How this directory differs from My Aged Care

My Aged Care is the Australian Government's aged care website and has its own find a provider search. Aged Care HQ is independent. We start from the same public government data, add what each home says on its own website, and show where every fact comes from and when it was checked. Each home page links to the home's My Aged Care listing where we have it.

You still need an aged care assessment before you can move into a government funded aged care home. Read how to get an aged care assessment and how this directory works.

Before you shortlist a home

A home's listing tells you what the government publishes and what the home says about itself. It cannot tell you whether there is a room free or how it feels to live there. These guides cover the steps around choosing a home.
