Aged Care HQ is an information website. We collect as little as possible.
What we collect
- Nothing you have to give us. There are no accounts, no logins and no forms required to read anything here.
- Email you send us. If you email us, we hold that email and our reply so we can deal with your enquiry.
- Basic server logs. Pages visited, referring site, approximate location, browser type. Our host records these to serve the site. We use them to see which guides are useful, not to identify individuals.
- Google Analytics. From 22 September 2026 we use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which guides are read, which search terms and sites send people here, and roughly where visitors are (city or region). It records things like pages viewed, time on page, how far down a page people scroll, which links and phone numbers are clicked, and device and browser type. We have turned off Google signals and advertising personalisation, we do not send Google your name or email, and we cannot identify you from these reports. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy.
What we do not do
- We do not sell or rent personal information.
- We do not pass your details to aged care providers, brokers or placement services.
- We do not run advertising trackers that profile you across other sites, and we do not use analytics data for advertising.
Cookies
From 22 September 2026 this site sets Google Analytics cookies (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID) to tell a returning visit from a new one. They are used for aggregate measurement only, not advertising. The only other external resources any page requests are the web font files from Google Fonts.
You can block or delete these cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Every page works the same with analytics blocked.
Third party links
We link to government and community organisations. Once you follow a link you are on their site and their privacy policy applies.
Your rights
We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). You can ask what we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing hello@agedcarehq.com.au. If you are unhappy with our response you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
