Aged Care HQ is an independent publisher. We are building a directory of Australian aged care providers, and we are doing it differently from the comparison sites currently in this market.
The problem we are trying to fix
When a family looks for aged care online, they may find government pages and comparison sites.
That last category is worth understanding. Some of these services may have commercial relationships with, or receive money from, the providers they list. Where that is the model, commercial relationships can influence which providers a family sees and how highly they rank, so it is reasonable to ask which providers pay the service. What we are building
A directory where every service is listed whether or not it pays us, the ranking is not for sale, and the information is sourced rather than supplied by marketing departments.
- Free to list, and free stays complete. Every registered provider gets a profile at no cost, built from published government data. A free profile is a full profile, not a stub designed to make you pay to fix it. We may later charge for optional extras on a claimed profile, such as photos, your own description and direct contact details. If we do, we will describe exactly what they are on this page before they go on sale, and the free profile will stay complete.
- No paid placement, and no paid coverage. You cannot buy a higher position in results, and you cannot buy softer treatment. Paying for extras on a profile will never move where that profile ranks or change what we publish about a service. Ordering is by relevance to what the family searched for, nothing else.
- No selling enquiries. We do not take a fee for passing a family's details to you, which means we have no reason to push them toward anyone in particular.
- Sourced data. Service information, registration status and published fee information traced back to primary sources, with the date it was checked.
Why a provider would want to be listed
We think clear, sourced, structured information about your service helps families find it, whether they use a search engine or an AI assistant. A thin listing on a site that families do not trust does not help you. An accurate, current, independently published profile does.
Being listed also means the information about you is sourced and dated, so you can see when it was last checked.
Where this is up to, honestly
The guides are live now. The directory is in development and not yet accepting listings. We are not going to pretend otherwise, publish a fake listing count, or run a countdown timer.
